Siberian Cat

kolli2.jpgSiberian Cat is a quite strong and massive cat. Still it is sweetly rounded and very suitable as a lappet. It is socially brave and active, as well as tender and loving. The big clear eyes look straight into your heart and the low chirping voice keeps you informed about her presence. Siberian Cat is sc. natural breed. Because of the cold northern climate it has a thick coat with soft wool under, and a wire-haired "rain coat" at the top. An impressive collar, tufted ears and toes and a bushy tail in addition. The harsh natural coat is easy to care; it doesn't get tangled.

The Siberian Cat's character is no way artificial, not in type nor in treats, not in colours. It has nothing extreme in its quality, nothing that doesn't suit a natural cat. That's why I prefer the traditional type, colour and pattern in my breeding. My favourite is classic tabby with its fine tones from warm golden to deep black. There is also a colourpoint cat, Neva Masquerade, which is recently accepted as Siberian Cat sister breed in FIFe.

The Finnish type of Siberian Cat is healthy, massive and original. The first (in 1992) imported female Plamenka was my Chili's ancestor, too. The breed is taken good care of by The Siberian Cat Club of Finland and The Friends of Siberian Cat - SIBY ry.  Imports from Russia and around Europe keep the breed fresh and of high quality.
